Headhunting (Executive Search)
Actively approaching and recruiting talented individuals, often those not actively job-seeking.
Headhunting, or executive search, is the practice of proactively identifying and approaching high-calibre candidates โ frequently passive candidates who are not actively looking โ to fill senior or specialist roles.
It is used when the right person is unlikely to respond to a standard advertisement, and it demands discretion, market knowledge and strong relationship skills.
While often outsourced to search firms, larger employers increasingly build in-house sourcing capability to reduce cost and strengthen their talent pipeline.
